LCD Projector Weight Considerations

The first feature you might want to consider is projector weight, or if weight is even an issue. If your projector will be mounted in a board room or carted from office to office, how much it weighs will not be a key consideration. However, if you plan on bringing your projector on external sales pitches or to conferences, weight will be critical to your future experiences. A few pounds may not sound like a huge deal but consider tugging that weight from your office, to the airport, to the conference and back. Also add consideration for your laptop, your notes, and any other extraneous materials.

The lightest projectors on the market are now less than three pounds. Projectors have gotten lighter and lighter recently; it seems to be about as light as they are going to get for now. Remember that the projector weight does not equal what you will be carrying to conferences. Make sure to ask about total weight of the package, including the carrying case and all other peripherals that come with the projector.

While deciding how much brightness your projector should have, keep in mind how dark the rooms are where you will normally be doing your presentations and how far your projector will be from the screen. Bigger rooms with more light require brighter projectors.
