LCD projectors are used for presentations on a computer. They are the present day equivalent to a slide projector. It is a device to view slides. A slide projector has three main elements: a fan-cooled electric light bulb or other light source, a holder for the slide and a focusing lens. The light passes through the transparent slide and lens, and the image is projected onto a flat screen so the audience can view the reflection.

As technology improves, LCD and DLP projectors are becoming increasingly affordable. There are numerous examples of this and many of these machines are selling for $500 or less. Prices are trending down while resolution and displays are improving. If you are a selective on image quality, then you can expect to pay more.
